RetiPie

Quick Start

Create a creator account, add your game's details, upload a single HTML file or a ZIP, check it in the device preview, and submit it for review.

Get your HTML5 game in front of RetiPie's reviewers in seven steps. Preparing the upload takes about five minutes; review follows.

1. Create your account

Sign up for a creator account with Google (or with Apple, where the button is shown). RetiPie doesn't use passwords.

2. Set up your creator profile

After signing up, a short setup screen asks for an optional bio and an optional website. This is the profile players see next to your games. You can edit it later in Settings.

3. Start an upload

Open your dashboard and choose Upload Game. The upload has four steps, and you can leave and continue later — the game stays a draft until you submit it.

4. Upload your build

Select a single .html file or a .zip with index.html at its root. The file is checked as it uploads. If something is wrong, such as a ZIP without index.html or a third-party ad script, the upload stops with a reason and you can fix it and try again. See Game Requirements for file limits and Uploading Games for the details of the pipeline.

Your game must include an index.html file. This is the entry point RetiPie uses to load your game.

5. Describe your game

In Game Profile, enter:

  • Title — the name players see (required, up to 100 characters)
  • Category — pick one: Puzzle, Action, Arcade, Strategy, Casual, Racing, Sports, RPG, Simulation, or Other (required)
  • Tags — 1 to 5 tags from the curated list (at least one is required to submit). Tags power discovery matching and are never shown to players, so pick the ones that genuinely describe your game
  • Description — an optional caption for the feed overlay (up to 2,200 characters)
  • Feed preview — optional. Add a poster (PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 10 MiB), or an 8-second silent clip from a video (MP4, MOV, or WebM up to 100 MiB) with its own poster. Leave it empty and RetiPie uses your game's first screen

There is no slug to fill in; RetiPie assigns your game's identifier.

6. Answer the age rating questionnaire

The Age Rating step is required before you can submit. Answer honestly: the questionnaire calculates the rating, and a moderator rejects the game if the rating doesn't match its content. See Age ratings for how it works.

7. Preview and submit for review

The last step opens your game's page. Use the device preview there to check the game on different screen sizes — it's the same sandboxed environment players use. When everything works, choose Submit for Review.

Automated checks run immediately and a moderator then reviews the game in submission order. Reviews usually finish within 24 hours, and you're notified when the game is approved or if changes are needed. Your game shows as Pending review until then, and as Published once it's approved and in the feed. If it's rejected, you see the reason on the game page, fix the issue, and submit again.

After your game is live you can unpublish it, upload a new version, or edit its details. New versions and detail changes go through review before players see them, and players keep the approved version until then.
